Which channel for which subject?
The right channel depends on how urgent the matter is and whether you need a written record. Price and planning, which need a written trail, move faster by form or email; operational matters where minutes count move faster by phone. On a shipment in progress, writing the file number or container number in the first message sends the matter straight to the right person.
- New shipment and price: the quote form — the cargo details arrive structured, so this is the fastest way.
- Urgent matter on a shipment in progress (vehicle at the gate, cut-off approaching, customs inspection): phone, +90 232 421 94 94.
- Sending documents (invoice, packing list, bill of lading, movement certificates): email, info@cargomerger.com.
- Questions about terms and process: first the glossary and the FAQ — most answers are written there.
- Applying to work together as a forwarder: CMI Partner (page in Turkish).
What should you have ready when you ask for a quote?
A binding quote needs a measurable description of the cargo; we complete the rest. If either dimensions or weight is missing, the figure given stays an estimate, because freight is calculated on the larger of weight and volume in most transport modes. If you want to work it out yourself, you can use our tools: the CBM calculator, the volumetric weight calculator and container capacity.
- Origin and destination — a city is enough, a port is better if you know it
- Type and packing of the cargo: palletised, boxed or loose
- Number of packages, gross weight (kg) and volume (m³)
- Delivery term (Incoterm) — leave it blank if unknown and we will ask; details in Incoterms 2020
- The approximate date the cargo will be ready
- For dangerous goods, the UN number and the safety data sheet (SDS); also say if you want customs clearance or insurance
Outside office hours and on public holidays
Forms and emails that arrive outside working hours are handled on the next working day. If you have a shipment in progress, how contact will work outside office hours is agreed in advance with your operations contact for that shipment; this page gives no general availability commitment, and our working hours are as written above. One thing to keep in mind: vessel and flight schedules, port operations and free-time counters keep running on holidays. Completing documents before a long holiday reduces the storage and demurrage risk that can arise when you return.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get a price by phone?
We can discuss your cargo by phone and share an approximate range, but a binding quote is given in writing. A quote is more than the freight: the included and excluded items, the transit time and the validity date are part of it, and they must be in writing so they can be compared later. The fastest way is to send the cargo details through the quote form.
Where should I send my documents?
You can send the invoice, packing list, bill of lading and movement certificates to info@cargomerger.com. For a shipment in progress, writing the file number or container number in the subject line speeds things up; having the documents complete before loading prevents waiting costs on arrival.
Are you open on Saturdays?
Yes, we are open on Saturdays from 09:00 to 13:00. Weekday hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00. Because Saturday is a half day, it is safer to settle the plan for any customs or port work on Friday.
